Fairlight is a session pale, brewed in collaboration with Wishbone Brewery in Keighley.
We wanted to brew an easy drinking, hoppy session beer with a great flavour and aroma.
With this in mind, we started with a malt base made up of Extra Pale, Wheat, Caramalt & Caragold; nice and pale, not too sweet, but enough body to balance the hops. The beer is hopped with Citra, Simcoe and a little Cascade – a little in the kettle, and a generous dry-hop added to the fermenter.
The name is a reference to the revolutionary Fairlight CMI synthesizer/sampler that came out in 1979 and was adopted by the likes of Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder and many others.
